TAURUS IS KEY
There’s a lot going on this month, but let’s just cut to the chase and say that if you work with Taurus, you will learn and grow.
Here’s a list of some key events for this month:
May 1st- Pluto goes Retrograde in Aquarius
May 5th- Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio
May 14th- Mercury retrograde goes Direct in Taurus
May 16th- Jupiter enters Taurus
May 17th- Jupiter square Pluto
May 19th- New Moon in Taurus (pivot)
May 20th- Mars enters Leo
Let’s put Taurus on the back burner for now, and first highlight that our entrance into May is heavily punctuated by the lunar eclipse in Scorpio. Also, Pluto is the planet that rules Scorpio, and it’s strong because it just went retrograde. These two events are creating a major theme of intensity at the beginning of the month. Lunar eclipses are supercharged full moons, and with the full moon happening in the water sign of Scorpio, this is an emotionally choppy moon. On average, people will be much more reactive and emotional during this time.
The impulsive reactivity will be fiercely driven into manifestation because of underlying trauma and suffering housed in the persons subconscious mind. These painful energies lay dormant in the psyche waiting for the right stimulus to bring it forth, and energy of May will bring the stimulus. The expression of these pain energies, will resonate with similar pain energies in others, and will create emotional trigger wars, and this synergy will substantially increase the ambient intensity of the collective. Welcome to the heart of Scorpio, the archetypal representative of our psychic garbage can. The triggering effect of Scorpio energy is just a catalyst for growth, because ultimately, with Scorpio events the goal is to release and transform those inner gremlins.
This is easier said than done, because the south node of the Moon has been in Scorpio since December 2021, and growing beyond the south node is difficult work because it’s so deeply ingrained in our collective karma. The nodes will finally change signs in July this year. I see this lunar eclipse as the last major event activating the nodes before they change into Libra/Aries. The energy of May will be challenging for many, but there’re proactive ways of working with this. Firstly, knowing is half the battle. In reading and feeling into these words, an awareness is blossoming within you. This month is about feeling energy, so as you move through your days, try to be keenly aware of your subjective reality, so that if you feel a trigger happening, you can pivot in that moment of awareness, and consciously choose a higher vibratory expression.
Beyond that, the most powerful antidote for the darker motivations of Scorpio instigation, is a positive expression of Taurus. Taurus is the sign opposite Scorpio, and becoming a master of polarity is an ultimate hermetic principle. The collective’s relationship to Scorpio is a bit out of balance and expressing itself unhealthily, so to bring things into balance, we defer to a strong response to Taurus to return to equilibrium. Taurus beckons us to relinquish our emotional attachments to the complexities of psychodrama, and instead return home to simplicity.
Simplicity can mean a lot of things, but for starters, returning home to the breath can be a good strategy. Let’s say something happens in your life that’s stressful and you get a bit flustered. Nothing life threatening, just a normalized modern human response to stressors that constantly bombard our system. Cortisol floods the blood stream, and your energy body looks like a threatened cat. What next? Well, you can try to charge on without cleansing the stress out of you, and it will eventually be forgotten, but the frequency will still have a negative impact on your consciousness. Or, you can do the simple thing and stop thinking, sit, and breath. Bring your awareness into your body and feel your belly expand as you inhale, and release stress as you exhale. Within a couple minutes of doing that, all the stress will be gone, and you return to peace.
Or, you can wildly shake and dance with your body, that will help too. Ever watch the horses muscles shake? They are releasing tension and tightness. Taurus is a sensual body-centered sign. This is an invitation to develop awareness through the 5 senses in whatever way is appealing to you. It can be music, growing a garden, nature, massage, jumping in the salt water, cuddling up with someone you love. These are all Taurus actions, and within them, you will find pockets of peace. Venus rules Taurus, and she is known as the “Goddess of Peace”. Amidst the Scorpio intensity, instead of getting caught in the undertow of your own em-ocean, focus on the simplicity of peace.
One thing to point out about the events listed above, is that they are all in fixed signs, and one of the challenges of fixed energy is getting stuck, and developing a stubborn refusal to adapt. This can be especially true if we are expressing egoic emotions stemming from human personality drama. Like with anger for example, often we can feel justified in our expression of it, even though allowing it expression will only create more anger and opposition in the world. We can grow attached to our non-Jesus like emotions and refuse to let them go kicking and screaming. Taurus is trying to say, no, let’s return to peace and tranquility. It’s much more healthy for our physical, emotional, mental, and etheric bodies, as well as everyone else around us. This is because everything vibrates at a specific frequency, and peace and love calibrates very high on the scale of consciousness.
If you feel an unpleasant stress based emotion, stop thinking, focus on the breath, and say to yourself “even if the worst is true, I consciously choose peace instead”.
These are the core evolutionary intentions, with the goal always – to expand our consciousness.
